
Join us for Freedom Fest, Sanger’s biggest and most anticipated celebration of the year! Our annual 4th of July event, happening on Saturday, June 27, 2026, attracts more than 7,000 visitors from near and far to celebrate Independence Day in true Sanger style.
This action-packed day offers something for everyone, including thrilling mega water slides, carnival rides, a petting zoo, and adrenaline-pumping thrill rides including a roller coaster. Enjoy live performances from headline musical acts, indulge in delicious food, and don’t miss the spectacular firework show choreographed to music that lights up the night sky. With countless activities and attractions, Freedom Fest promises a memorable experience for families, friends, and the entire community.

Important Information
EVENT START TIME:
The event starts at 5:00 PM. The park will be closed to the public before the event.
TENTS AND UMBRELLAS:
No pop-up tents or large umbrellas will be permitted. You are welcome to bring your chairs and blankets.
BIKE RIDERS:
Non-motorized bikes (aka bicycles) are permitted. Parking for bikes will be in one of the back fields. The City of Sanger is not responsible for damage or theft. If you opt to ride your bicycle, please secure it.
COOLERS AT FREEDOM FEST:
Small coolers are permitted. No larger than 14 x 7 x 12. No glass containers. As a reminder, alcohol is not permitted in City parks.
PARKING FOR FREEDOM FEST:
GENERAL PARKING WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE AT PORTER PARK. FREE PARK AND RIDE SHUTTLES ARE PROVIDED. Shuttles will begin running at 4:30 PM. Shuttle service will stop once everyone has been returned to their vehicles.
